Write of Passage: Director of Content & Marketing
TLDR: We’re seeking a Director of Content & Marketing for Write of Passage. This position will touch every corner of the Write of Passage ecosystem, including setting the Write of Passage content strategy, creating course-related content, growing David Perell's audience, running course launches, and architecting our backend email infrastructure. You’ll take the lead in directing the Write of Passage brand across all channels, and you’ll be responsible for marketing new products that emerge. The role is highly flexible, fully remote, and asynchronous except for occasional trips within the U.S.
At Write of Passage, our mission is to teach thousands of people to write online, share their ideas, and build an online audience. In our flagship Write of Passage course, hundreds of students learn to publish their ideas, connect with others, and accelerate their careers through their writing. Students also leave with a network of friends who share their excitement for ideas.
Write of Passage has been taken by over 1,000 students in more than 50 countries. Over time we will continue to add companion courses to the Write of Passage ecosystem. Our vision is to build a global platform for writing instruction in the 21st century while delivering the best educational experience on the Internet.
What is the Director of Content & Marketing going to do?
The role will be fast-paced and dynamic, split between running course launches and orchestrating the Write of Passage content strategy.
During course launches you’ll be responsible for designing the launch strategy. This will include planning launch email sequences, planning and running virtual workshops, and working with contractors to refine the Write of Passage website and launch email copy. Over time you’ll manage a growing team that executes all launch activities.
Beyond course launches, you’ll set the content strategy to grow David’s email list and promote the Write of Passage brand. You’ll work with contractors to produce free written and video content to spread awareness about the course and grow our top-of-funnel subscriber base. You’ll also help repurpose existing content assets for new audiences and mediums.
